Peyia

The apartment is situated on the east side of Peyia in a lovely peaceful location, it is less than 10 minutes walk to the village centre and 5 minutes drive to the blue flag beaches and resort of Coral Bay.

The village of Peyia lies on the south western tip of Cyprus and is probably one of the most colourful and interesting villages on the island. Whilst the original village was a small stone built community of farmers, Peyia has grown to be the Municipality of Peyia, governing the area of the Akamas Peninsular in the west with its spectacular landscapes, deserted beaches and conservation projects to the edges of Paphos on the east side. Paphos town is only 15km from Peyia village. To the north of Peyia roads meander through the hills and acres of vineyards in steep valleys with some outstanding views to the Troodos Mountains and on to the coast and Aphrodite's Baths before then leading you down to Polis and Latchi.

Today, Peyia retains its charms but has grown up to be a vibrant and welcoming large village, whose population is a mix of many nationalities, most of whom are Cypriots or UK ex pats. A magnificent church is at the heart of the village with a pretty courtyard garden and the Vrissi fountain, a popular location for weddings. From here narrow streets and alleyways lead off and are full of old and interesting houses, which expand into seeing the traditional join with the more modern amenities including traditional tavernas, more sophisticated restaurants, supermarkets, bakers, butchers, chemists and banks.

Set on a hillside, the views are magnificent, the people warm and friendly and the facilities first class. With beaches only 3km away, it's no wonder that Peyia is fast becoming a first choice for holidaymakers looking for quality, culture and value for money as well as those choosing to make Cyprus their permanent place of residence.
